SUMMER PROGRAMS

GENERAL SUMMER PROGRAM INFORMATION:

In addition to a 10U-18U traveling program, the Huskies Fastpitch Club (HFC) offers an in-house Mini Crush and Junior Crush program to provide developmental, skill-based fastpitch softball programs for K to 4th grade.  See below for program details.

*WORK DEPOSIT:  Each family of a registered player will pay a work deposit fee of $200 and will be asked to work 6 hours throughout the season (work opportunities may extend into August) to earn the work deposit back.  A maximum of 12 hours/$400 per family if multiple players are in the program.  Work opportunities will be communicated via the HFC website and sign up will take place within our online "Dibs" tab on the HFC website (found in the upper right hand corner of the home page when logged into the site).  Opportunities may include helping with the fundraiser, home tournament, OHS kid's night, Fair Parking, etc...

*FUNDRAISER:  At the time of payment, each player will be required to submit a $105 fundraiser fee.  In return, they will be given 15 pancake breakfast tickets. If multiple players per family, there is a family max of 25 tickets for $175. The fundraiser event will be held at the VFW on May 1st. 

*10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U batting helmets will be provided. However, for sanitary reasons it is encouraged players provide their own batting helmet (black – unless they already have one).

Please use this form to petition the HFC board for your daughter to petition to play in an older age group. Eligibility: must be 1 year or less younger than desired age group to petition (1 year below first year 10U eligibility through 1 year below first year 18U eligibility)

2024 MINI CRUSH softball-

Grades K, 1 & 2 (grade going into fall 2024) 

  • This is an in-house HFC program emphasizing fundamental softball skill development using fun and creative drills appropriate for this age group.

  • $40/player- Mail to Huskies Fastpitch Club, PO Box 1035, Owatonna MN 55060 or Venmo @HFCcrush.

  • Players will learn the proper techniques for throwing, catching, fielding, batting, base running, and good sportsmanship. 

  • Practices will primarily focus on skill development drills and stations, will consist of smaller groups and will include fun competitions throughout to showcase skill development.

  • In-house games will be played in July. Coach pitching will be used.

  • Each participant will receive a uniform, consisting of a shirt and socks.  Sizes needed at the time of registration.

  • Players will be grouped together by grade.  Coach Abby Olson will notify players in late May regarding the first practice.

  • Monday and Wednesday evenings June 10th thru August 1st (except the week of July 1st) from 5:30-6:45 pm.

2024 Owatonna Crush 10U Fastpitch Softball:

  • A competitive travel program for –

    • Players born 2013-2014

  • Schedule will consist of approximately one game per week (Wednesdays), at least one practice per week, and up to 2 tournaments, plus an optional state tournament.  Coaches will notify players regarding the first practice date and season schedule.

  • Fees: 

    • $200 Registration fee

    • $105 Fundraiser fee 

    • $200 Worker deposit (must be a separate check, will be returned if family works required hours)

  • Each player receives a team jersey.  Black pants and socks are to be supplied by the player.  

  • Registration must be done in 2 steps:

1) Pre-registration has closed:  Register online via the HFC website, (www.owatonnafastpitch.com

2) February 25, 2024: attend the registration event from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McKinley Elementary School to pay fees, pick up fundraiser items and select jersey size. 

  • Evaluations will be conducted on Sunday, April 7, 2024. 
  • 12pm-1:30pm (all players), 1:30pm-2:15pm (pitchers and catchers) at Manthey Park   
  • Rain Date: Sunday, April 14th (only if needed)                                                
  • A mandatory parent meeting will be held during evaluations 1:30-2pm at the Manthey Shelter House.

2024 Owatonna Crush 14U Fastpitch Softball:

  • A competitive travel program for –

  • Players born 2009-2010

  • Schedule includes 2 league games per week,  1-2 practices per week, and 2-3 tournaments, plus a state tournament.  Coaches will notify players regarding the first practice date and season schedule.

  • Fees: 

  • $750 Registration fee

($700 if paid in full, or 3 payments of $250 due upon acceptance of roster spot, October 31, 2023 and at Registration Night in February 2024.) 

  • $150 uniform fee (jersey + pants)

  • $105 Fundraiser fee

  • $200 Worker deposit (must be a separate check, will be returned if family works required hours)

  • Registration fees are non-refundable after accepting a roster spot.

  • A photocopy of player's birth certificate will be needed at the time of registration.  This is needed for tournaments. 

  • Registration must be done in 3 steps:

1) Step 1: Register.  (Registration is closed.) 

2) Step 2: Attend evaluations.

3) Step 3: you must attend the in-person registration event on February 25, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at McKinley Elementary School to submit a photocopy of birth certificate, pay remaining fees, pick up fundraiser packet and select uniform sizes.     

  • Evaluations were be held on August 7, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm (and 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm for pitchers and catchers) at Morehouse Park. (Rain date August 8th.)  A $20 fee is due at the time of evaluations.  $20 will be taken off your registration fee if the player is offered and accepts a roster spot.  After evaluations, teams will be announced and players will have 48 hours to accept a roster spot and pay the registration fee. 

2024 JUNIOR CRUSH softball–

Grades 3 & 4 (grade going into fall 2024)

  • This is an in-house HFC program emphasizing fundamental softball skill development using fun and creative drills appropriate for this age group.

  • $40/player- Mail to Huskies Fastpitch Club, PO Box 1035, Owatonna MN 55060 or Venmo @HFCcrush.

  • Note on age criteria:

    • Players born in 2013 or 2014 may participate in either Junior Crush OR the U10 traveling league (if age eligible) but not both since they may be held on the same nights. Players must be at least 9 years old on January 1, 2024 to participate in the U10 traveling program. 

  • Players will continue development of proper techniques for throwing, catching, fielding, batting, base running, and good sportsmanship, while also learning the fundamentals of pitching, catching, bunting, and game situations.

  • Practices will primarily focus on skill development drills and stations, some games and other fun competitions throughout to showcase skill development.

  • In-house games will be played in July.  Coach pitching will be used.

  • Each participant will receive a uniform, consisting of a shirt and socks.  Sizes needed at the time of registration.

  • Players will be grouped together by grade.  Coach Abby Olson will notify players in late May regarding the first practice.

  • Each player receives a team jersey.  Black pants and socks are to be supplied by the player.

  • Fees: 

  • $975 Registration fee 

($925 if paid in full, or 3 payments of $325 due upon acceptance of roster spot, October 31, 2023 and at Registration Night in February 2024.)

  • $150 uniform fee, if needed (jersey + pants)

  • $105 Fundraiser fee

  • $200 Worker deposit (must be a separate check, will be returned if family works required hours)
