Player/Parent Meeting:

• When:   Monday, March 6th @ 7:30 PM
• Where: OHS Small Group Forum (right next to the Gym)
• What:  We will discuss more details for the 2023 season and answer any questions.  Will also hand out fundraiser coupon books to sell ($150 per player - $250 family max).  Please be prepared to pay for your coupon books that night.

There will also be a general meeting for all spring athletes the following Monday, March 13th, at the OHS Auditorium.  This will start at 6:00 and is required for all athletes/parents that did not participate in a fall or winter activity.

OHS Tryouts: 

• Who: Owatonna High School softball tryouts will be open to all 7th – 12th graders
• Where: McKinley Elementary Gym
• Schedule: 
  • Monday, March 13th -  3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Tuesday, March 14th - 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • Wednesday, March 15th - 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • *Thursday, March 16th - 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM
  • *Friday, March 17th - 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM

(* tentative - depending on number of players registered) 

Teams will be announced online the night of the last day of tryouts.

*Gym shoes, glove and athletic clothes are required.  Players are welcome/encouraged to bring their own helmets/bats/catcher’s gear.  Also players should be prepared for some outdoor activities and bring sweatshirts/pants.

 **You MUST register online prior to your 1st official day of practice (March 14th) to be eligible for tryouts/practices.  You also need to have a sports physical that is current with the athletic office.  Contact Nancy Benson in the activities office at 444-8988 with any questions.

Shuttle Bus Info:

There will be a shuttle available from OHS and OMS to McKinley for tryouts and for practices.  Once practices are outside the shuttle bus will bring students to Manthey park for JV and C team practices.

Helmets:

If you are looking to purchase a new helmet and you want to match what most other players in the program have you will want to purchase the white/royal helmet found here.  Otherwise, a white helmet with a matte finish is recommended (but not required - team helmets will be available).
